Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQ's)
Why
are Business Accounts charged more than Personal Accounts?
123m.com
provides good service. We cater to small businesses and spent
a lot of time keeping our small business customers happy. This
extra time and attention requires a slightly higher fee.
What
is POP3 email?
POP3 stands for Post Office Protocol. The 3 stands for the current
version of the protocol.
POP3
is the most recent version of a standard protocol for receiving
e-mail. POP3 is a client/server protocol in which e-mail is received
and held for you by your Internet server. Periodically, you (or
your client e-mail receiver) check your mail-box on the server
and download any mail.
POP3
mail can be retrieved by most popular e-mail products, such as
Outlook, Outlook Express, Communicator, Eudora and many more.

Okay,
I am going to Sign-up! But what is a DNS Record or MX Record?
A
DNS Record is how the internet finds your web-site or email server.
All domain names have two parts, a WWW record (website) and an
MX Record (email). These can be split up.
If
you have another company hosting your web-site, they are managing
you DNS Record. To use 123m.com for email services, you would
have your hosting company point your MX Record to pop3.123m.com.
If
you are not actively using your domain name right now, this typically
means that your Registrar, the company you listed your domain
with, is hosting your DNS Record. In that case, you need to contact
your registrar and have them point your DNS Record as follows:
Primary
Name Server (NS): ns.123ebiz.com - 63.106.146.210
Secondary Name Server (NS): ns2.123ebiz.com - 63.106.146.211
At
this point, 123m.com is hosting your DNS Record.
Some
ask, Why pay for email when many offer the service for free?
123m.com's
answer is simple. There are no free lunches. If a mail service
is giving away their mailboxes, they are making money some other
way. Most likely, they are doing this via advertising!
They
advertise within your email, or they resell private information
they collect from you as you use their service.
123m.com
is a private email provider. You pay us a small fee each year which
allows us to keep our facilities state-of-the-art, providing you
with exceptional service. After that, we mind our own business.
123m.com
does not allow spammers to use our service, nor will we ever resell
your email address or private information to any third party.

Will
I still get junk email with my 123m.com account?
Junk
email is a fact of life. The more you submit your email to various
websites, the more likely it is that you will receive junk email.
123m.com offers free alias accounts that can help you manage this.
Although
your regular email address might be sample@123m.com, 123m.com
can create an alias to this account, such as sample2@123m.com, that
you can use to submit to websites.
Both
emails end up in the same mailbox, but the alias makes it much easier
for you to recognize and delete junk mail.
